I was so excited to be able to photograph this precious little baby boy. He was such a good little bubba, slept the whole way through our photo shoot without fuss. Thankyou to his lovely parents who invited me into their home, along with all my props and gear. I know this is a big ask because they'd only been home from hospital for a few days and were still getting to know their new little man. But I hope they'll agree it was worth it to get such cute shots of their beautiful little newborn; that newborn stage just passes by way too quickly!
Just love those little lips!
I got to use my suitcase...yay (and I love it)!

{The delightful Miss D}
Today I had the opportunity to meet little Miss D, a delightful 20 month old little girl. She was very interested in all my photography paraphernalia and I'm sure she thought I was going to build her some kind of cubby house when I started pulling out poles and fabric to put my backdrop together, she thought it was all a bit exciting.
Little Miss D was a very happy, compliant little model who really liked to accessorise, but when she was done, she let me know it was time for me to leave, hahaha!
Here is a small selection of some of the shots from today as a sneak peak.

Markets!
I am currently feeling very excited about some upcoming markets that I am going to be a part of. I am having my first ever stall at the Lollipop Markets on Sunday 7th August and then the following week I will be having my first stall at the Matilda Markets on Saturday 13th August.
Despite being excited at finally being chosen to be a part of these two fabulous boutique markets, I am also nervous because I still have soooo much to do to prepare my stall!
Anyway, it seems I work better under pressure (and am quite used to late nights and working at the last minute), I am sure I will get all my jobs done before that time.
I hope to see all my family, friends, fans and supporters there, as there will be sooo many fantastic quality stalls there to shop at, and let's face it, winter's a great time to get out to a family friendly indoor venue and SHOP!
See ya,
Sonia x

My first ever blog post
Hi,
My name is Sonia and I have finally given in to creating a blog page for my little business, Heavensent Photography. I'm not up to scratch with creating blogs so I am gradually trying to understand how this medium works (so forgive me if I am a bit slow at working out what I'm doing on here).
I thought I'd start off by telling you a little bit about myself. I am a mum to two beautiful kids and married to a great husband who is willing to support my passion, (although sometimes under sufferance when I want him to co-operate for a photo!)
I got my first (toy) camera for Christmas when I was 4 years old and just loved playing with it as a kid, pretending to photograph everyone and everything around me. When I got to high school I really, really wanted to study photography, but the school I went to didn't offer it as a subject so I took up art and design instead.
I then went on to Uni and studied a Visual Art degree where I undertook every unit in Photography that I could possibly get my hands on. I also studied teaching and have been teaching Art/Design and Photography on and off over the past 11 years.
I have always taken photos and have worked on and off doing photographic work for as long as I can remember and am renowned for always having a camera hanging around my neck because I can't stand missing any photographic opportinities. It was a year ago, when after much encouragement and support from my husband and friends, I finally decided to start my own business as a baby/child/family/wedding/lifestyle photographer.
I now feel sooo lucky to be doing what I love and since that day I haven't looked back. My aim in my work is to capture natural, heartfelt emotions and expressions in the people that I photograph and to give my clients a set of special art images that they will cherish and adore forever. The big reward in it for me is when I strike raw emotion in my clients upon presenting them with their photographs, there is no bigger compliment than when they shed a tear or tell me that I captured their child's true spirit.
I feel very privledged when I am entrusted to capture couple's weddings, precious newborn photos or anyone's portraits and I hope that I can build upon my relationships with my clients and be asked back to record further memories in their lives.
Please follow me through my blog, facebook page and my website to see what I'm working on and what special offers I post during the year. I would also love to hear any feedback you may have for me.
Sincerely,
Sonia x
